By creating an account or using Lead with How, you agree to these terms. We've written them to be clear.
Lead with How is a web service that helps people and organizations capture, organize and communicate the stories of their work. It is operated by Lead With How LLC, 4025 Dobbs Drive SE, Huntsville, AL 35802 ("we", "us").
You're responsible for what you upload. When you add a story, document, photo, recording or note, you confirm you have the right to do so.
We store your content and process it to run the service, including sending it to AI providers to write summaries, find patterns, prepare questions and power the How Agent. Some of this runs in the background, for example your daily question and digest, not only when you press a button. We never sell your content, and we don't use it to train AI models.
You give us a limited license to store, copy and process your content only to operate the service for you. It ends when you delete the content or your account.
Everyone has a personal space. If you join a team, content you add to the team's space is visible to the team according to its roles. Your conversations with the How Agent are private to you, including on a team; your Team Lead cannot read them. What the How Agent remembers about you is listed in My Account, where you can delete it.
Team Leads manage the team: they invite and remove people, approve contributors' stories and manage billing. If you leave or are removed from a team, the stories you wrote are copied to your own space.
You can cancel any time in My Account → Billing. Paid features continue until the end of the period you've paid for. Monthly plans are not refunded for part of a month. Annual plans are refunded in full if you cancel within 14 days of the purchase or renewal date, and not after that. The Start with How package is refunded in full if you cancel before your working session takes place, and is non-refundable once it has.
Your archive stays yours. You can keep capturing stories and notes, and you can view and export everything you've added. The How Agent and AI writing features need an active plan or a seat on a paying team.
We'll give active subscribers at least 30 days' notice of a price change. Founding prices stay locked while the subscription continues.
You may not use Lead with How to upload content that:
You may also not scrape, copy, or resell the service itself without permission. We may remove content that violates these terms, with or without notice, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
If you believe content on Lead with How infringes your copyright, send a notice to dmca@leadwithhow.com with a description of the work, where the material is, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We'll respond promptly, remove material that is properly identified as infringing, and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
If a third party brings a claim against us based on content you uploaded or your use of the service, you agree to indemnify and hold Lead With How LLC harmless from any damages, including reasonable legal fees. In plain English: if you upload something you didn't have rights to and someone sues, that's on you, not us.
AI-written content is a starting point. Review it before you use it; we don't guarantee its accuracy. If you tell the How Agent something that suggests you may not be safe, it will point you to crisis support. It is not a counseling or emergency service.
We work hard to keep Lead with How available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for downtime, data loss due to technical failure, or service interruptions outside our control.
You can delete your account at any time. Your content is removed from the live service within 7 days and from backups when they expire, as our Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Lead with How is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will email active users at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
