By using Lead with How, you agree to these terms. They are written to be clear, not to confuse you.
Lead with How is a software-as-a-service platform that helps individuals and organizations capture, organize, and communicate their impact stories. It is operated by Alison Kling.
You're responsible for what you upload. When you upload a document, photo, video, scan, or any other content to Lead with How, you confirm that you have the right to do so. That means you own the content, you created it, you have permission from the owner, or it falls under fair use. Don't upload anything you don't have rights to share.
What we do with your content. We store it. We process it, which means we feed it to AI tools to generate summaries, search across it, and surface patterns for you. We never share it outside your account without your explicit permission. We never train AI models on your content. Our AI provider (Anthropic) doesn't train on API inputs.
You grant Lead with How a limited license to store, copy, and process your content for the purpose of operating the service. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account.
What you keep. Your content stays yours. You can download, edit, or permanently delete anything you've uploaded. Closing your account removes your data from our active systems within 30 days. Backups follow our standard 30-day retention.
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start. At the end of the trial, you will need a paid plan to continue accessing your account.
You may not use Lead with How to upload content that:
You may also not scrape, copy, or resell the service itself without permission. We may remove content that violates these terms, with or without notice, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.
If you believe content on Lead with How infringes your copyright, send a notice to our DMCA-designated agent at dmca@leadwithhow.com. Include:
We'll respond promptly and remove material that is properly identified as infringing. We may also terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
If a third party brings a claim against Lead with How based on content you uploaded or your use of the service, you agree to indemnify and hold Lead with How harmless from any damages, including reasonable legal fees. In plain English: if you upload something you didn't have rights to and someone sues, that's on you, not us.
Lead with How uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power story prompts, impact summaries, and the How Agent. AI-generated content is a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing and editing it before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.
We work hard to keep Lead with How available and reliable. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for downtime, data loss due to technical failure, or service interruptions outside our control.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.
Lead with How is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will notify active users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
